In the bustling landscape of the construction and infrastructure industries, where complexities and challenges are plentiful, O&M stands out as a beacon of success and excellence.

The engineering design, construction, operations, and maintenance firm offers a comprehensive suite of services to the power, mining, water, and infrastructure sectors across private and government domains in Australia. From electrical scaffolding and cleaning to engineering and more, O&M proudly wears the badge of a one-stop shop for any project needs.

“Our robust resource pool, combined with our dedicated personnel, empowers us to surmount obstacles and deliver on commitments. Our skilled employees swiftly adapt to dynamic project requirements while meeting the most stringent timelines with exceptional outcomes,” says Daniel Lissa, general manager at O&M.

Behind this stellar performance lies a united team with shared values and an unbreakable bond. The company’s remarkable team culture is built on loyalty and mutual support. Employees, regarded as invaluable members of the O&M family, reflect their dedication through their work. This cohesion ensures O&M operates as a well-oiled machine, where each member is not just a cog but a contributor to the overarching success.

Collaborations with key players in specific domains provide clients with a collective force of expertise, innovation, and resources. O&M’s openness and transparency in its operations complements its capability, fostering trust among clients and partners.

This partnership approach diversifies and aligns strengths to deliver truly holistic solutions.

Recently, O&M assisted a client in procuring, constructing, installing, and testing a 150MW/ MWH battery energy storage system (BESS) with a 220/33KV Substation. The project incorporated advanced technology and involved intricate electrical and SCADA works, including deploying 342 modular, factory-built cubes using Generation 6 Gridstack technology.

The journey to complete the BESS was not without its hurdles. Despite circumstances beyond its control, O&M remained dedicated to working collaboratively with the EPC contractor to overcome these challenges and maintain project momentum.

Although the unseasonal wet weather led to many delays, O&M’s adaptability and ability to manage time-sensitive tasks under unpredictable circumstances came in handy. Alterations to the plant’s design and the subsequent scope changes, compounded by delays in the supply of essential materials, required a swift pivot while maintaining quality standards.

Despite the challenges, O&M concluded the project with an insignificant punch list, earning accolades from the EPC representative, who hailed it as the “best of any project I have worked on.”

Over 48,000 person-hours were invested in the project with zero injuries recorded, demonstrating an uncompromising commitment to the safety and well-being of its workforce. The project fostered excellent relationships among the EPC engineer, commissioning team, and project owner. This positive feedback underscores O&M’s teamwork and professionalism. Operating under stringent Australian safety and environmental standards and ISO accreditations (9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018), O&M meets requirements and consistently exceeds quality prerequisites.

For instance, when undertaking projects, the company strategically assigns qualified full-time safety professional. This approach ensures multiple layers of safety management and allows it to create tailored safety plans and procedures specific to each project’s needs. This safety culture extends across the organization, ensuring every project prioritizes the well-being of its personnel and clients. The three pillars – quality, safety, and environment – form the foundation of O&M’S entire operations.
