David Pratt serves

David Pratt is a seasoned professional with over four decades of experience in construction technology and IT management. His expertise lies in integrating technology into construction processes to enhance the outcome and support for teams and projects.

Pratt has successfully managed large-scale IT projects throughout his career, improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing project outcomes. A key factor behind this achievement is his deep knowledge of technologies like building information modeling, virtual design and construction and construction project management software.

Currently, Pratt serves as the director of corporate and operational technology at Robins & Morton, where he is responsible for implementing and developing long-term IT strategies that align with the company’s business objectives. His responsibilities also involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT department and ensuring the seamless functioning of systems, applications and networks. Over nearly a decade in this organization, he was also a regional VDC manager and a manager of BIM/VDC, improving project success by leveraging digital tools and processes.

Prior to joining Robins & Morton, he served as a virtual design and construction coordinator at Brasfield & Gorrie, a privately held construction company. During this period, he led efforts in 3D modeling, virtual construction coordination and the development of as-built models, all crucial for accurate project turnover and documentation.

Pratt’s technical expertise strengthened during his period at BBM Structural Engineers, where he spent nearly a decade as structural BIM manager and corporate network manager. In this capacity, he designed structural models and drawings of various structures, including government offices, warehouses and retail stores. He maintained all network operations, software distributions and workstation maintenance across corporate and satellite offices. Pratt also created and maintained a company database of all past, present and future projects for fast and accurate project information, including cost and submittals.

At Orange State Industries/PETRO-FIRST, Pratt held a hybrid role that combined CAD detailing, structural drafting and network administration. These experiences set the stage for his holistic view of construction technology.

He is also highly passionate about the safety and education of individuals. This commitment can be witnessed in his role as an MSF RiderCoach for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in Florida. In this role, Pratt trained novice and experienced riders in motorcycle safety techniques, earning national accreditations to teach across the U.S.

Pratt’s career displays the evolution of construction from traditional drafting to fully integrated digital delivery. His ability to bridge the gap between IT systems and field operations has made him an invaluable asset in every role he has held.
